Top 10 Action/Horror Anime *HALLOWEEN SPECIAL*

*~*(.10.)*~* Soul Eater
Set in the skill-developing school for weapon meisters, this series revolves around 3 pairs (or in one case, a trio) consisting of a weapon meister and a human weapon. In order for them to make their weapon a "Death Scythe", which is the highest title for a weapon and thus fit for use by Lord Death, a meister-weapon pair must collect the souls of 99 evil humans, or kishins, and 1 witch. Besides training and taking the time to gather the souls needed, these students of Death Weapon Meister Academy (otherwise known as the DWMA or Shibusen) defend Death City from monstrous creatures while still attending school to become stronger.

*~*(.9.)*~* Tokyo Ghoul
In a world where creepy looking ghouls roam the streets of Tokyo, college student Ken Kaneki just barely survives a close and dangerous encounter with his date, who is soon revealed to be a ghoul, and is taken to the hospital in which he unknowingly undergoes a surgery that would somehow turn him into a half-ghoul by borrowing some of his date-who died when she attacked him-'s organs. Now, just like them, he has to consume human flesh in order to survive. After he is left with nobody to turn to for his...issue, he is taken in by the ghouls that own and manage a coffee shop. These ghouls teach him to interact with the ghoul community while striving to keep his identity secret from other humans and ultimately, to deal with his new life as a half-ghoul.

*~*(.8.)*~* Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)
With a self-contained short story format, the episodes usually follow the same pattern: a person has suffered a thousand injuries (Cask of Amontillado, anyone?) from someone to the point where this person can't endure it any longer and accesses the Hell Correspondence website to submit a request to Ai Enma, AKA Hell Girl, to come and "get rid" of the person. Of course, she appears. When she comes, she will present a doll with a string that, once pulled, will send the bad person to Hell. After the person sending the antagonist to Hell pulls the string, Enma and her companions consult with the antagonist and doing so, offer a very last chance to repent, which, if not taken, the person shall be taken, well...to Hell. But one more thing, the price of sending that person to Hell is that the person making the request will be sent to Hell after their life is over as well.

*~*(.7.)*~* Vampire Knight
My personal favorite of vampire anime, Vampire Knight centers on Yuki Cross, who remembers nothing of her childhood besides one snowy winter night, when she was almost attacked by a Level E (rogue) vampire, but luckily the vampire was stopped by the fabulous Kaname Kuran, a pureblood vampire. Yuki is known 10 years later as the daughter of the headmaster of Cross Academy and has been trained to become head of the disciplinary committee of the human and vampire classes at Cross Academy, protecting Kaname and his vampire buddies from discovery at this pacifist boarding school. Zero Kiryu is a childhood friend of Yuki's, who has a hatred for vampires seeing that they slaughtered his family. He also works on the disciplinary committee, but he has a secret that he can't let anyone know, not even Yuki. Of course, he's not the only one with secrets (*cough cough*).

*~*(.6.)*~* Serial Experiments Lain
Lain Iwakura is young girl living in suburban Japan in a world where an Internet-like technical reality exists called the Wired. She is somewhat introverted, and socially isolated from most of her school peers, but the status-quo of her life becomes upturned by a series of bizarre incidents which start to take place after girls at her school recipe fed an email from Chisa Yomoda, a schoolmate who had committed suicide. When Lain receives the message herself at home, it says that she is not dead, but has abandoned her body and is deep within the virtual reality-world of the Wired where she has found the almighty and divine God. Now Lain experiences a series of cryptic and surreal events that explore her reality.

*~*(.5.)*~* Gyo: Tokyo Fish Attack
Tadashi is a young man on a scuba-diving vacation in Okinawa with his girlfriend, Kaori, who has a hyper-sensitive sense of smell. She becomes irritated when they encounter a strange fish (because of the smell) with legs and asks Tadashi to get rid of it. He seals it in a bag, but it somehow escapes. The next day, many creatures like the fish fro, the day before manage to invade Okinawa. Tadashi and Kaori return to Tokyo, although Kaori becomes irritated and paranoid, claiming to smell the fish. Soon, Kaori and Tadashi discover that a ton of marine life with legs are invading Tokyo!

*~*(.4.)*~* Blood C
Saya Kisaragi is a seemingly-normal girl. She lives with her father, the head of her hometown's shrine, and learns the "art of the sword" from him. During the day she goes to school and spends time with her friends at a local cafe. She has to fight against the ("Ancient Ones," in the English dub), the monsters that menace her peaceful town, with a sword her missing mother left behind. When she fights against them, she learns more things about who she really is and her real mission.

*~*(.3.)*~* Kakurenbo: Hide & Seek
There's a myth that when children play Kakurenbo, a game of hide and seek, after dark in a certain neighborhood, are kidnapped by demons!
A boy named Hikora is playing in the hope of finding his lost sister. When he gets to the alley where the game is set to begin, the streetlights flicker on their own, and the game begins. Hikora and his friends are playing the game to find Hikora's sister in the abandoned streets. When they pass through the gates to enter the abandoned streets, they are pursued by four different demons and then finally by the one demon who is "it". They are told, then, what happens to little kids that play this game...

*~*(.2.)*~* Higurashi no Naki koro ni
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni takes place during 1983 in a small village called Hinamizawa. Keiichi Maebara, moves to Hinamizawa and his new classmates quickly become good friends of his. This new town seems normal at first. But that all ends after the annual Watanagashi Festival, a celebration to commemorate and give thanks to the local god, Oyashiro. Keiichi learns that every year for the past four years, someone has been killed and another has gone missing on the evening of that same festival. In each story arc, someone becomes paranoid, and a crime is committed. Usually, the crime involves the murder of one of their own friends.

Drumroll.....

*~*(.1.)*~* Corpse Party
Corpse Party surrounds a group of friends at a school which was built over an old school called Heavenly Host Elementary. They perform a spell/ritual that will allow them to stay friends forever. A sudden earthquake transports them to an alternate dimension where Heavenly Host remains where it once was and is haunted by the ghosts of the school's murdered children. The group must try to figure out the truth in order to find their way home and survive but unfortunately some don't make it. And they die...horrible deaths.

That's all for today. Hope to see you soon!
Stick around for other special.
Love,
The Dramanator
